1) It's my late day, so I don't have to start work until 11AM. The
variety of the schedule is good for me, and being able to stay late at
least once a week seems to make some of our families happy.
2) 2 people subscribed to the blog I made for work
(
http://sylvancamden.posterous.com ) completely unsolicited! By the way, feel free to subscribe.
3) New England Clam Chouder at Togo's is delicious.
4) I have a pretty short list of close friends and relatives, and it
looks like a bunch of you are on diets like me. I'm totally here to
support you, you know, however I am very competitive. I am absolutely
treating this diet like a game, and I WILL WIN. 135 pounds to lose is
no joke people.

1) I like this new plan of only stepping on the scale once a week.
It's definitely better on the self confidence, but does a number on
the nerves.
2) Since starting the new diet a week ago, I've dropped 10.6 lbs!
3) Rain! It's raining again! I love rain!
4) Business is good this month. I won't say the economy has completely
recovered, but I see a lot more families confident to spend than they
were last year.
5) Watching my friend Rich's reaction to fresh wasabi on Youtube.

1) Season 6 of Numb3rs

So, if our new Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan,
loses sleep over the status of Detroit schools, what does he make of Socratic method math classes for 9-year-olds that focus on group interaction and no assessments or measures of success other than "the kids are learning."

I Like The Fancy Algorithms
After using Pandora Radio for some months now, I felt like I was finally starting to get into a groove with the musical suggestions it made daily. This happened because Pandora allows users the ability to sculpt their own radio out of your own patterns, likes, dislikes, fancy algorithms, and a few other tools. Except for the fancy algorithms, the only thing I knew less about with Pandora were the other tools. So, while I kept adding more and more stations to help shape Pandora to my tastes, I had no idea I was fast approaching their station limit, 100. I seriously had no idea
Pandora had a station limit. When I hit 100, I turned to the wisdom of FriendFeed, and some excellent knowledge percolated right up to the front. "Just combine them," Yolanda says.
My New Strategy
So, I took Yolanda's advice, and now I'm down to less than 20 stations. I grouped all the bands into more genre-formatted groups, each one with a head group or singer. Bob Dylan Radio is the folk, country, alt-country, singer-songwriter station. Pink Floyd Radio is my classic rock station. A Tribe Called Quest Radio is where I can get my hip-hop, and rap fix. I'm pretty sure this way I can't get to 100 genre stations. I can rock some wild tunes, but 100 different genres is quite a challenge.
